Portraits and Commissions
I paint children’s portraits by commission. (Adults can have their portraits painted too but everyone ends up with a big round head and looking like they are three and a half years old!) I use ink, pencil, crayon, and watercolour on acid free archival textured paper. I work in a cartoon style, trying to capture what the person is wearing and a little bit of their personality. I often paint them doing their favourite thing and special toy can be included.
I now paint from photographs. This means no sitting still for small children!
I can work from more than one picture, one for favourite shoes and another for a facial expression from another. Happy to include teddies, puppies and other pets, unless you own a zoo. If this is a second portrait, please send me a picture of the other siblings’ pictures to help me match the painting style. They are available unframed but I can provide a photo of the frames I use, they come with a wide mat board with a simple white or black wooden frame.
